About Me

PROFILE

Hi, my name is Lucas and I am a husband, father, veteran, and BI Ninja.  I am currently designing data warehouse solutions for healthcare clients and love what I do.  Knowing that my hard work directly impacts patient care and satisfaction makes the long work days worth it.  I served in the military for 5 years as a Navy Corpsman doing patient care for Navy and Marine service members and their families.  I have traveled/deployed to over 14 countries, and been stationed all over the United States.  I have had the privilege to meet many different people during my life from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, and it has helped me become more diverse and a better communicator.  Serving my country and my fellow veterans has been one of the most rewarding and proudest times of my life.

I am a proud husband of an active duty US Air Force R.N, and a father of two amazing boys.  We enjoy traveling as a family and doing a lot of outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and hitting up the beach!  We are currently located in Northern California near Travis AFB, CA.

Thank you for visiting my site and hope to hear from you soon!

    Site up and running…

Building my personal website has been on my to-do list for awhile.  Unfortunately as everyone knows life gets busy.  Whether it’s work, family, or work, it’s hard to find the time.  So yesterday, I decided to at least look at domains and price them out.  Domain pricing led to coding, and coding led to Photoshop.  I totally had to brush up on Photoshop because I am def not a power user.  After a couple of hours, my site was up and running and I was excited to show my wife (who doesn’t get excited about my coding projects like I do).  She liked it (in her own way, lol) and now I am the proud owner of my very own personal site.

In today’s business, it’s not just important to have a personal site to find a job, but it’s about marketing yourself.  You can passively market yourself, for jobs/opportunities that you don’t even know about.  Plus if your a coder/designer it’s just fun so that’s a bonus.  It’s not expensive, but it does take time and attention to detail.  But once it’s done it’s just updating every now and then just like your resume.  Not to mention too, it also makes you stand out when you are job hunting.  So hope you enjoyed my post, and until next time 🙂

oh ps: it’s super hot here in California…blah
